the Snowbird Express
The Snowbird Express is blazing a new trail.  The semi-annual migration of warm weather retirees (snowbirds--snowflakes, for those that go back  North for X mas) creates an opportunity to frame a series of eco-hubs that provide a myriad of "services" depending on local talent and leadership.
In the fall elders or other weather sensitive folks move from North to South.  Let's help them and combine it with growing sustainable agriculture, local communities  and innovative green businesses.  As our snowbirds age they will need a reliable, safe way to make the journey in the spring to their homes in the North, too. The staff will be able to accommodate and care for differing levels of mobility.  Sons and daughters won't have to worry or take time off work to help Mom and Dad to their winter home in sunny Florida.
Join in the adventure.  Now open for green angel investors or travelers south in the fall of 2019andspring 2020.  Administrators and accountants are especially needed as those talents are not in my skill set.  May the Cooperative grow.  Let me know what YOU can contribute.
As we grow our base of seasonal travelers (very personal concierge experience or group tours with specified focus) we will be on the lookout for likely locations for the eco-hubs.
Eco-hub services may include hostels, health food & coffee shops, community garden learning centers with an eco biz incubator.  The Snowbird Express can schedule stops at festivals, community colleges, farmer's markets, brew pubs, art galleries, and......wherever the community has begun or  begins the transition.
Help connect the sustainability centers in the eastern US.  From the Donella Meadows Institute in Norwich and Heartland Four Corners, VT to ECHO in N. Ft. Meyers, Fl.
Let me know if you are intrigued and energized by this site.  Let me tell you, we have a long road ahead and it's fun to have some intelligent company along the way.  Come along, get in touch, let's see what happens.
